Annemarie Colbin stated in her book Food and Healing in 1986 that, “In a systems’ view of the body, input of all kinds relates to output of all kinds. Food, therefore, would have a definite relationship to matter pushed out through the skin. I am continually amazed that dermatologists persist in viewing the skin as merely a protective envelope for the body, ascribing its eruptions to ‘viruses’ and imprecise malfunctions and supporting the myth that ‘diet has nothing to do with acne.’ In my experience, diet has everything to do with acne. Not only did I fix my own bad skin through correct eating but I have seen among my students a number of severe cases – the large purplish kind of acne on cheeks and chin – completely cured within three months by a change of diet.” Stop Eating These Foods: Unfortunately, this program won’t work very well for you if you smoke or drink alcohol or coffee. These items upset your body’s minerals and vitamins, throwing them out of balance. It will be hard to achieve balances in your system with these intakes. You don’t have to stop everything right away. Very few people can quit eating and drinking these foods immediately, so do it gradually. Yes, it’s hard to quit eating food that you have enjoyed your whole life, but ask yourself: “Which do I want – no acne, or junk food?” The choice is up to you. I know you’ll make good choices, so let’s get started with the list: · White Bread is considered to be junk food. Is has absolutely no nutritional value for your system, it’s hard to digest, and it causes constipation. · Chocolate is full of saturated fats. These are bad for your health and bad for your skin. · Fried fatty foods such as cheese, beef, and potatoes are bad for your system. · Packaged foods provide no nutrition for your body. They are called dead foods, with no value to them. In fact, they use your vitamins, minerals, and enzymes for digestion. They also have no fiber, so constipation can be a problem. · Artificial flavors and preservatives are very toxic non-food items. Since they are not food, your body doesn’t know what to do with then, and so they go into storage in your body as toxic sludge. · Dairy products cause allergies. They also cause mucus to form, which coats the intestines and colon, interfering with the functions of those organs. In addition Bacteria and pathogens live in the mucus. This mucus is excreted through the face if there is an overabundance in the body. So, if you don’t digest dairy products very well, you can get acne from them. · Carbonated drinks contain lots of sugar and phosphoric acid, both toxic for your body. · Sugar may as well be labeled white poison. The FDA should make it against the law to produce or sell sugar, because of the problems it causes with health. · Salt should be avoided because it has iodine, which causes acne. · Vitamin B12 can cause acne, or make it worse. · Colon cleanse tablets will help your body flush built up toxins from your digestive tract. So, there it is. You’ll have to have a lot of will power to stop eating these foods, and it may take you a while to purge them from your diet. But get started, and see where you end up in 6 months. |
